Anna drives CelluXtreme’s mission of pioneering materials with energy and sparkling optimism. In a recent interview, she shares her story of co-founding CelluXtreme.
Anna leads CelluXtreme with a strong drive to develop the technology and market for its pioneering solutions, and she inspires investors for engaging in providing society with high-performance and sustainable materials. This is a task for which Anna is perfectly prepared. Throughout her career, she has worked on bringing new results and technologies to industrial use – as a researcher, within the industry, as a financier, and now through CelluXtreme.
Anna strongly believes new materials are the key to a more sustainable future. “Seeing what it takes to pioneer materials has given me a deep understanding of how new technologies are scaled and commercialised”. Anna sees three things that must align to make this happen: “customer-driven development, long-term investors, and a strong team. When these come together, you make a lasting impact.”
Anna has made an impact throughout her career. She pioneered cellulose materials design and developed the nanocellulose mobile production at Innventia (now RISE Bioeconomy). As CEO of the Swedish Innovation program, BioInnovation, she developed a national agenda and investment tools for the circular bioeconomy. Anna says that developing a deep-tech company is the ultimate challenge and that start-ups are essential to industrial innovation. ”I’m fascinated by implementing excellent results to solve real problems.”
Anna joined CelluXtreme in 2022, and a lot has happened since. Anna was not just the CEO, she brought in customers and started development projects. She also worked in the lab, running the spinning line and building the team. Today, CelluXtreme has five employees and advisors from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, STING, and other networks. ”It’s a privilege to work with my team, our industrial partners and advisors,” Anna says. ”Together, we will make composite materials greener and the industry more resilient.”
That’s a vision! If you want to be involved in the development, start a prototyping project, or leave Anna a message, get in touch.
